New research suggests that by September (due to Covid), most students will have fallen behind where they would have been if they had stayed in classrooms, with some losing the equivalent of a full school year’s worth of academic gains.

DRAW

Students code a video game, write a novella based on the Hero’s Journey, and learn how to draw.

Each participant receives 45 hours of STEAM-related instruction during the session (3 hours/day for 3 weeks). The program uses a "Hero's Journey" thematic framework and includes exposure to local industry professionals who share their own STEAM journeys. The program culminates with an exhibition where students present their completed work to industry expert judges and families.

With the school closures due to COVID-19, we are providing this innovative program remotely. Students still benefit from the small group instruction (1/9 staff/student ratio) and have the benefit of participating and engaging with other students. Students published novellas are now mailed at the end of the program and they present their completed games through a virtual exhibition. These live classes have been a welcome salve to parents who can rely on the program to engage their children without their involvement so they can focus on their own “work from home” responsibilities.

Comparative mythology researcher Joseph Campbell popularized the concept of the “Hero’s Journey” as the common story across cultures of a hero who goes on an adventure, faces tests and trials, and returns home changed. The “Hero’s Journey” serves as the thematic framework for the CODE WRITE DRAW program modules and provides an integrated narrative student experience.

Enrollment now open for 4th - 6th grade students. 4 week session July 6th - July 31st

Cost for full 4 week session is $1920.

PARENT & STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

Here is what the thousands of parents and students we have served have to say about our services:

My child was not able to read when he entered the program and now he can read whole sentences. He also has a lot more confidence.

-Parent

TUTORWORKS WAS GREAT! I learned things I was struggling with.

-Student

My son enjoyed working with his tutor because she was very clear when explaining concepts and knew exactly how to connect with him. Tutoring sessions became something that my son looked forward to going to every week. He improved his grades in school. Thank you for everything!
